WinPoker ver 6.0 (SIM) by Bob Dancer
The new and improved version of the incredible video poker software, WinPoker, is available. It slices, it dices ... whoops, wrong product. Actually, it does everything but those things, and now comes with additional pre-programed game templates, including the Atlantic City joker poker schedule that everyone's been clamoring for. There are enhanced training options, and faster run-times. And, of course, all of the original features remain. The combination of WinPoker and the Dancer/Daily Video Poker Strategy Cards will make you a virtual video poker powerhouse. What makes this program so much better? Well, here's a clue: The official name of the software is Bob Dancer Presents WinPoker. Get the picture? Dancer is the pre-eminent video poker expert in the world today, and it was his "wish list" that helped make the program the gem that it is. The comparison follows; keep in mind that the price of WinPoker is the same as VP Tutor: $29.95. To begin, WinPoker is Windows based. That alone remedies one of the major flaws of VP Tutor, which works out of DOS. WinPoker also installs easily, comes with clearly written instructions, and has an on-screen "Help Menu." Best of all, there's a phone number for tech support from the publishers. Hallelujah! That's a good start, but how about the features? Here's a quick rundown of the standouts. There are 15 game templates, which means you no longer have to program the computer in order to switch to favorite schedules like 10/7 double bonus, Atlantic City joker poker, or full-pay deuces wild. Once you do move beyond the templates, however, you can program Winpoker to handle almost anything presently offered in a casino (the one omission is sequential royals). The program includes various training and analysis modes. The error report is far more understandable than VP Tutor's. There's a setting for Quadruple Play (Triple Play could not be included because of trademarks). Even the graphics are more realistic. On top of everything, it's faster-and I mean by a long shot. Actual speed will depend on the type of computer you have, but the calculation of a return percentage that took eight minutes on my computer with VP Tutor took only about 55 seconds with WinPoker. WinPoker is an incredible product, and our new choice for best video poker software. It's in stock now and ready for immediate shipping.

Million Dollar Video Poker by Bob Dancer
Bob Dancer is the best known video poker player and writer in the world. In just six years, after coming to Las Vegas with a $6,000 bankroll, Dancer won more than $1 million playing beatable machines. Million Dollar Video Poker recounts the events of those six years, with stories about his meteoric ups and downs, and lessons for players of all skill levels. Video poker is one of those rare casino games that can be beaten by a talented and informed player, and Dancer explains how it’s done. Never before has a top video poker professional shared so many of his winning secrets.

The Video Poker Answer Book by John Grochowski
In The Video Poker Answer Book, John Grochowski gives his easy-to-understand insights into how the machines work and the best strategies for attacking up-to-date variations on this casino standard. How does the player recognize a high-paying machine? How do bonuses on certain rare hands affect strategy? Does the best method of play change on new machines that have the customer play three, four, five, 10 or even 50 hands at once? With answers to more than 300 questions, The Video Poker Answer Book is a natural companion to The Casino Answer Book and The Slot Machine Answer Book, which both drew rave reviews

Video Poker Optimum-Play 2nd Edition by Dan Paymar
Video poker remains the most popular gambling game with the fewest books written about it. Author Dan Paymar, publisher of the VIDEO POKER TIMES newsletter, addresses several playing considerations (volatility, bankroll requirements, jackpot frequencies) and pay schedules. This book is recommended for all levels of players. Following is part of a review written by Anthony Curtis for Strictly Slots Magazine. A big part of the book covers Dan's "Precision Play" rules for the most common schedules (Jacks or Better, Deuces Wild, etc.). These rules are conveyed primarily in prose, as opposed to the usual lists of hand rankings that you find in most other books and on strategy cards. The Precision Play rules also omit some of the low-importance considerations in order to make learning the strategies easier. Paymar has championed this style for years, and there's nothing wrong with it, though I've never found it easier than consulting hands on a strategy card. For me, the great value in VPOP lies in the sections and tables covering game variations, progressives, tipping, taxes, machine malfunctions, and playing video poker in tournaments, among other subjects. The coverage of the volatility of the games and attending bankroll considerations are the best you'll find in any single source. This is a book that I'll keep handy as a desk reference.

Winners Guide Volume 5 by Bob Dancer
Bob Dancer's A Winner's Guide to Pick 'Em Poker continues the tradition of giving the player the "full monte" for this highly enjoyable and high-return game. Pick 'Em Poker can be found in numerous Vegas places, as well as in casinos throughout the country. The full-pay version returns a healthy 99.95% which normally makes the machine positive when combining rewards that casinos give to the players. Bob Dancer's book analyzes the game, gives the perfect play instructions, and even gives hand-per-hand examples for some of the toughest plays. This is like a strategy card on steroids, considering that is a completely in-depth analysis and instruction on Pick 'Em and is 56 pages long.

Winners Guide Volume 6 by Bob Dancer
Very popular for its enhanced bonus-pay schedule, Double Double Bonus has recently become available in a 10/6 full-pay version that returns 100%. Bob Dancer's A Winner's Guide to Double Double Bonus Poker covers the full-pay version, as well as the much more common lesser-return versions of this game, with the same exhaustive coverage that has become the hallmark of the Winner's Guide series.
